Job summary

Brookville Center for Children's Services offers home/community-based services for children born to 3 years of age with developmental delays or disabilities. The Per Diem Special Education Teacher will provide appropriate special education services to assigned children.

In this in-home/community role, compensation is $80-$90 per hour with competitive pay and NYSSL sick leave. Mileage reimbursement is available with restrictions; wellness incentives are offered as part of our support for staff.

Qualifications

• New York State Certification in Special Education.
• One year of related experience planning individual education plans to meet the needs of a child or children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Address significant behavioral situations through positive reinforcement behavioral management plans and/or seek assistance from the behavior support team.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
• Actively supervise students in and out of the classroom.
• Implement appropriate education strategies to meet the needs of assigned students.
• Oversee and manage assigned teacher assistants/aides in all areas of the educational day.
• Comply with OCFS license regulations (where applicable), SED regulations and agency policies and procedures.

We are seeking a Per Diem Special Education Teacher to provide appropriate special education services to assigned children.
