Job summary

TheraCare Brooklyn is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Early Intervention program serving infants and toddlers from birth to age 3 in home and community settings. You will design and implement individualized intervention plans and partner with families to support your child’s growth.

Responsibilities include IFSP implementation, developmental assessments, and collaboration with families and an interdisciplinary team to coach families and document progress per NYC EI requirements.

Qualifications

• New York State certification in Special Education (Birth–Grade 2) or equivalent.
• Experience with infants/toddlers in early childhood preferred.
• Knowledge of IFSPs and Early Intervention documentation standards.

Position Overview

As a Special Education Teacher in our Early Intervention program, you will work with infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years old) with developmental delays. You will design and implement individualized intervention plans and partner with families to support their child’s educational and functional growth.

• Provide direct early childhood special education services to children in home and community settings
• Implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs)
• Conduct developmental assessments and progress monitoring

Qualifications:

• New York State certification in Special Education (Birth–Grade 2), Special Education Permanent Certification or TSSLD/TSHH
• Experience with infants, toddlers, or early childhood preferred
• Knowledge of Early Intervention service delivery models and documentation standards
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to travel within assigned boroughs of NYC

Physical Requirements:

• Hand dexterity ability (ability to operate mobile device, smart phone, computer)
