Job summary

Community Workforce Solutions is seeking a Special Education Vocational Facilitator/Instructor to work with high school students with disabilities throughout Rockingham County and Caswell County.

As part of our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program, this position helps students explore career opportunities, build workplace readiness and practical life skills, and prepare for greater independence after high school.

Qualifications

• Degree in Special Education or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Experience teaching or working with students or individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage students with different learning needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver career-readiness and life-skills instruction
• Work with students individually and in groups or classrooms
• Prepare and adapt lesson materials and hands-on activities
• Support student participation, skill development, and progress
• Maintain program documentation and assist with reporting
• Collaborate with school staff and Pre-ETS team
• Travel between Rockingham and Caswell County high schools

Job Type: Full-Time | 10-month
Location: Rockingham County & Caswell County
Pay: $19.00– $22.00 per hour

Community Workforce Solutions is seeking a Special Education Vocational Facilitator/Instructor to work with high school students with disabilities throughout Rockingham County and Caswell County. As part of our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program, this position helps students explore career opportunities, build workplace readiness and practical life skills, and prepare for greater independence after high school.

What You’ll Do

• Support and deliver career-readiness and life-skills instruction
• Work with students individually and in small-group or classroom settings
• Prepare and adapt lesson materials and hands-on activities
• Support student participation, skill development, and progress
• Maintain accurate program documentation and assist with required reporting
• Collaborate with school staff and other Pre-ETS team members
• Travel between assigned high schools throughout Rockingham County and Caswell County

What You’ll Bring

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• Experience teaching, training, or working with students or individuals with disabilities
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage students with different learning needs
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to travel between school sites throughout Rockingham County and Caswell County
• Ability to complete a background check and drug screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 10-25 pounds
• Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the day
