Waterbury Public Schools is seeking a dedicated 18-22 Transition Teacher (Special Education - High School) to develop and monitor community-based instructional programs for students with disabilities. You will support postsecondary outcomes in employment, independent living, and further education across classroom, community, and work-site settings.

The role requires collaboration with IEP teams, data-driven instruction, and a focus on transition outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Valid Connecticut State Board of Education teaching certificate/endorsement appropriate to assignment.
• Comprehensive Special Education, K-12 165 endorsement.
• May be required to possess a valid Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License.

Responsabilités

• Attend staff, building, parent and team meetings.
• Communicate with team members, parents and guardians about student needs and interventions.
• Develop data collection and management systems; enter data into databases and analyze results.
• Leads IEP meetings and contributes to IEP goals and progress.
• Provide direct instruction using varied teaching methods and ensure student safety.
