Sylvania is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 18-21 Transition Program. This full-time role focuses on enhancing the learning experience of students with disabilities, ensuring they gain essential skills for independence and employment.

The successful candidate will implement individualized transition services, collaborate with families and agencies, and maintain a positive classroom environment. A Bachelor's degree and Colorado State Certification as a Special Education Teacher are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Colorado State Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Bachelors in education discipline relevant to teaching assignment.
• Experience in special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement district approved curriculum for students with special needs.
• Develop and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
• Coordinate with families, agencies, and staff to support student needs.

Skills

Knowledge of Special Education principles

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to organize and coordinate work

Knowledge of data information systems

Knowledge of federal and state education laws

Education

Bachelors from an accredited college in education
