Job summary

The Lansing School District seeks a Testing Teacher Consultant to support the special education evaluation process, collaborating with school psychologists and teams to complete initial and reevaluation REEDs. The role monitors timelines and communicates with families throughout the process.

The successful candidate will help ensure evaluations are thorough and compliant, working with staff to support at-risk learners and improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and prior approval as a Teacher Consultant by the Michigan Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Maintain caseload of at-risk learners to provide support and behavioral interventions leading to academic success.
• Must be able to meet timelines and monthly deadlines.
• Assist families with finding necessary resources.
• Monitor students’ data to demonstrate academic and behavioral growth.
• Develop and monitor goals for students and the criteria for success.
• Communicate individual plans for students to staff to facilitate a whole school approach to student improvement.
• Work in collaboration with school administration to address the needs of our most at-risk learners, with the focus on improving academics.
• Providing staff with essential information to develop interventions for academics and behavioral success.
• Identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect.
• Other duties as assigned
