Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated instructional aide to support teachers of students with disabilities. The role involves assisting with instructional duties, preparing materials, supervising students, and applying behavior management techniques under supervision.

Responsibilities include data collection, discipline, language practice with speech therapy guidance, and operating AV equipment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Experience as a teacher aide or with children preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

Collects and records student data such as skill practice, seizure occurrences, and toileting.
Provides discipline in the absence of the teacher and maintains consistency with established procedures.
Implements behavior modification plans.
Reads to students and stimulates language development; conducts language activities as directed by the speech therapist.
Supervises learning centers and assists students with manipulating materials.
Participates in classroom activities and during discussions and games.
Operates computer and audiovisual equipment such as DVD, data projector, or smartboards.
