Job summary
Great Hearts Academies’ Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5) in Helotes, TX supports students in general and resource classrooms under certified teachers. Responsibilities include small-group and 1:1 academic support, adapting materials, reinforcing rules, and assisting with behavior management.

Qualifications
- High school degree or higher required; associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience in special education preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; reading great books encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Support students in small groups or 1:1.
- Assist students with assignments, homework, projects.
- Adapt materials and provide modifications to help students learn.
- Reinforce classroom rules and safety.
- Monitor student behavior and implement behavior strategies.
- Assist with de-escalating student behaviors and support teachers.
- Provide clerical support for the ESS Team.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
