Job summary

Great Hearts North Texas Academies seeks a Special Student Services Teaching Assistant to support both general and special education classrooms. You will work under certified teachers to assist with group and individual student needs, adapt materials, and reinforce SDI concepts in a collaborative campus setting.

The role requires strong communication skills, experience in special education, and a willingness to participate in meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in special education.
• Educational Aide certification I-III preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Interest in reading great books and supporting learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support in small groups or 1:1.
• Assist with assignments, homework, and projects; adapt materials as needed.
• Reinforce classroom rules and support behavior management.
• Assist with de-escalation and social skills development.
• Support transitions and activities across settings.
• Provide clerical support and help maintain an organized workspace.
• Attend meetings and training sessions; collaborate with teachers.
