Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Knowledge of core academic subject and curriculum
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for differences in student learning styles
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies
• Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment aligned to students’ needs
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs
• Coordinate with inclusion and other staff to set instructional goals and methods
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned
• Utilize technology to enhance teaching and learning processes
• Maintain communication with parents, students, and staff about student progress
• Participate in staff development activities and comply with district regulations
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as required
