Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a center-based Significant Support Needs program serving K-5 students in Westminster, CO. A CDE license in-hand and SPED teaching experience are required.

The role includes leading a classroom of 10 students, supervising 5-6 paraprofessionals, and delivering IEPs with a 40-hour work week on a day shift. fingerprinting clearance is required after signing the contract.

Qualifications

• CDE license in-hand required to begin assignment
• Experience in special education teaching and writing IEPs
• CPI training within first 90 days of assignment
• Preference given to candidates with SSN teaching experience
• Preference given to candidates with ELL training and/or ESL or LDE endorsement
• Colorado CBI and FBI fingerprinting clearance required

Responsibilities

• Non-clinical elementary school setting in a center-based SSN program for K-5
• Student population: K-5 with significant support needs
• Caseload of approximately 10 students
• Manage and train 5-6 paraprofessionals
• Day shift 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 5x8 hours
• Full-time position at 40 hours per week
• Develop and implement IEPs for students with significant support needs
• Provide direct instruction and support in a center-based classroom
• Supervise and train paraprofessional staff
• Complete fingerprinting clearance after signing contract
