American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher (Mod/Severe) for a center-based SSN program at an elementary school in Westminster, CO. The role requires a CDE license and experience writing IEPs, with a focus on students with significant support needs.

Responsibilities include supervising 5–6 paraprofessionals, managing a class of about 10 students in grades K-5, and delivering instruction from 7:30am to 4:00pm, 40 hours per week. CPI training and fingerprint clearances are required.

Qualifications

• CDE license required for consideration.
• Experience writing IEPs required.
• Special education teaching experience required.
• CPI training within first 90 days of assignment.
• Colorado CBI and FBI fingerprinting clearance required.
• Preference given to candidates with SSN teaching experience.
• Preference given to candidates with ELL training and/or an ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Non-clinical elementary school setting within a center-based Significant Support Needs (SSN) program.
• Caseload of approximately 10 students in grades K-5.
• Student population consists of students with significant support needs.
• Responsible for managing and training 5-6 paraprofessionals.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
• 40 hours per week.
• Provide instruction and support for students with significant support needs in a center-based classroom.
• Collaborate with and supervise paraprofessional staff to support student learning.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
