Job summary

The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for Whitney Hall School in Hamden, CT. You’ll design IEPs, provide high-quality instruction in a special education environment, and collaborate with treatment teams, families, and outside agencies to ensure each student receives the academic and emotional support they need to succeed.

Holds or is eligible for Connecticut Special Education Certification; a Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for Connecticut Special Education Certification (#165, #265, or #065).
• Bachelor’s in Special Education; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals.
• Assess and monitor academic strengths and challenges to guide instruction.
• Prepare and implement IEPs, quarterly benchmarks, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with PPT recommendations, IEP timelines, and regulations.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.
• Maintain accurate records and timely reports.
