Job summary

The Children’s Center of Hamden is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for our Whitney Hall School program. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality instruction, design individualized education plans (IEPs), and support students with diverse learning needs.

You’ll collaborate with treatment teams, families, and outside agencies to ensure each student receives the academic and emotional support they need to succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required.
• Connecticut Special Education Certification required; DSAP eligibility considered if not certified.
• Master’s degree preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals and needs.
• Assess progress and prepare quarterly benchmarks and reports.
• Prepare and implement IEPs, and ensure compliance with timelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with treatment teams, families, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in PPTs and team meetings.
