Job summary

The Learn Academy in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Mild/Mod or Mod/Severe) to join our K-12 private day school dedicated to students with autism spectrum disorders and related needs.

Responsibilities include developing IEPs, executing individualized curriculums, and collaborating with OT, SLP, and BCBA teams to support student growth in academics, behavior, and social development at a state-certified program.

Qualifications

• Valid California Special Education Credential (or enrolled in a program for certification).
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred or intern student currently in Special Education program.
• Autism-specific or related certificate preferred; accepted if paired with another teaching credential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans (IEPs), individualized curriculum and lesson plans.
• Implement instructional activities that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse needs and backgrounds.
• Assess curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
• Provide a positive environment encouraging active learning.
• Collaborate with OT’s, SLP’s, BCBA’s, and supervisors.
