The Menta Education Group in Chicago, IL seeks a Special Education Teacher to educate a small self-contained class in a social-emotional learning environment. The role emphasizes inquiry-based academics within a PBIS framework.

Teach across subjects to a class of about 10 students with paraprofessional support; collaborate with curriculum and clinical staff to achieve positive outcomes and participate in school-wide efforts with a flexible, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• IL PEL with LBS1 or IL certification required.
• Ability to teach multiple grade levels as student populations change.
• Ability to teach across all basic instructional areas.
• Experience with youth having emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach all subjects in a classroom setting.
• Provide a differentiated learning environment.
• Collaborate with staff including curriculum and clinical staff to yield positive results.
• Work with on-campus staff and personalize learning while gaining support from other teachers and staff.
• Provide a social-emotional learning environment.
• Manage a classroom of around 10 students with paraprofessional support.
