Job summary

The Menta Education Group seeks a Special Education Teacher in Gilman, IL to educate a small self-contained classroom of about 10 students with paraprofessional support.

The role requires IL PEL with LBS1 or General Education with willingness to obtain LBS1; you’ll collaborate with curriculum and clinical staff to personalize learning and deliver a social-emotional learning environment.

Qualifications

• IL PEL with LBS1 or General Education teaching cert with willingness to obtain LBS1.
• Ability to teach multiple grade levels as student populations change.
• Ability to work with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Teach all subjects in a self-contained classroom.
• Provide a differentiated learning environment.
• Collaborate with curriculum and clinical staff to yield positive results.
• Gain on-campus support from other teachers and staff, including paraprofessionals.
• Personalize learning and provide a social-emotional learning environment.
