Job summary

The Menta Group is seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher in Gilman, IL to educate a small self-contained class of students. The role emphasizes social-emotional learning and inquiry-based academics within a PBIS framework.

Ideal candidates hold IL PEL with LBS1 or General Education with willingness to obtain LBS1 and should be prepared for a 10-month calendar. Sign-on bonus and tuition reimbursement for LBS1 are negotiable, with an emphasis on collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• IL PEL with LBS1 certification or General Education certification with willingness to obtain LBS1.
• Ability to teach multiple grade levels as student populations change.
• Experience in self-contained classrooms with students with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach all subjects in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Provide a differentiated learning environment.
• Collaborate with staff, including curriculum and clinical staff, to yield positive results for students.
• Personalize learning and provide a social-emotional learning environment.
• Manage a classroom of around 10 students with paraprofessional support.
