Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Secondary level at White Bear Lake Area High School. The position is 1.0 FTE, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, starting November 30, 2026, under the Educators Agreement.

You will provide a broad range of teaching and instructional services to support students’ skill development and future learning, under limited supervision of the Building Principal; collaboration with paraprofessional staff is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in teaching or a related field is required.
• MN Teaching License in Special Education or related services is required.

• Help students develop skills, attitudes and knowledge for future learning using varied teaching methods.
• Work under limited supervision of the Building Principal and coordinate with paraprofessional staff.

Position Summary:

Performs difficult professional work providing a broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student's ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal. Continuous oversight is exercised over Paraprofessional - Special Services.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in teaching, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Special Requirements:

MN Teaching License in the area of Special Education or related services
