Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional/Early Childhood Assistant to support preschool students in a small-group and one-on-one setting, under the supervision of licensed teachers.

The role involves assisting with instructional activities, managing classroom tasks, and ensuring student safety while aligning with the Paraeducator Agreement compensation of $22.66 per hour; schedule is Mon/Wed/Fri, 5.5 hours per day, on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates/Technical degree preferred.
• Experience supporting students with special education needs.
• Experience organizing and managing special education paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Assists classroom teachers in whole group, small groups, or individual student support.
• Provides support for students with special education needs.
• Maintains classroom organization and supports paperwork as needed.

Skills

Moderate experience with children

Experience supporting students in S.E.

Ability to assist in group and 1:1

Education

Start/End Dates: On or About December 14 2026 - on or about January 22, 2027

Work Week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5.5 hours/day from 9:00-2:30

Position Summary: Performs intermediate human support work assisting classroom teachers by working with students in the whole group, in small groups or individually and related work as apparent or assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children
• Associates/Technical degree preferred.
• Experience supporting students with special education needs
• Experience organizing and managing special education paperwork

Special Requirements:

• Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, approved competency portfolio or pass MN Parapro test
• Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire.
• Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program.
• Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.
