Job summary

PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students (high incidence) near Shawnee Mission, KS. This in-person role focuses on implementing district curriculum and achieving IEP goals through collaborative planning with school teams.

You will participate in IEP/IEPC meetings, tailor lessons to diverse needs, and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment to promote student growth and success.

Qualifications

• Masters degree preferred, but a Bachelor's degree is required.
• Active Kansas teaching licensure with Special Education certification.
• High Incidence license required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accommodate, modify and adapt lessons to meet IEP goals.
• Support IEP meetings and IEPC development.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' developmental levels.
• Set clear expectations for classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques.
• Assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans.
