Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom work to address individualized learning plans within established lessons.
• Administers first aid and assistance to medically fragile students under supervision.
• Conducts developmental testing and assessments to inform IEPs and progress.
• Informs parents/guardians about student progress and improvement plans.
• Assesses student progress toward objectives and communicates results to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborates with teachers, staff, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Counsels students to support performance, health, and problem-solving skills.
• Creates individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet legal requirements and student needs.
• Demonstrates instructional methods to address individual student requirements.
• Directs assistant teachers and support staff to implement effective classroom programs.
• Instructs students to improve academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Monitors students across environments for safety and learning quality.
• Participates in meetings to share information and coordinate services.
• Prepares written records (grades, attendance, IEPs) documenting progress.
• Reports incidents per school policy to maintain safety and compliance.
• Responds to emergencies to ensure student safety.
