Qualifications

• KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; solve practical problems.
• Specific knowledge: de-escalation and restraint training; stages of child development; safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Apply de-escalation strategies to maintain student safety and dignity.
• Instructs identified students one-on-one or in small groups to support IEP goals.
• Maintain instructional materials, data and student files for progress monitoring.
• Perform data tracking and instructional assistance to support the teacher.
• Supervise groups of students to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Follow district and state procedures for behavior management and safety.
