Special Education Teacher, Resource Room, Grades 9-12 – Bangor High School

• Certification as special education teacher (#282) required
• Ability to write and implement individual education plans required
• Ability to complete diagnostic testing required
• Experience working with children with disabilities necessary
• Proficiency with technology required
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team required
• Ability to implement Safety-Care intervention strategies helpful but not required
• Ability to develop and implement behavior plans necessary
• Strong background in Reading and Math preferred
• Ability to collaboratively problem solve
• Experience with special education law and forms
• Ability to identify barriers to learning and to teach skills in academic, social executive function, and emotional regulation areas
• Willingness to look at whole child, evidenced-based approaches
• Ability to support students in learning the skills they need to be successful learners
• Ability to use data-driven approaches to track learning progress and growth
• Training in multi-sensory approach to reading preferred
• $47,549 - $108,355 annually, depending on education level and experience
