Job summary

Oak Hill Middle School in Sabattus, Maine, is seeking a qualified Special Education Resource/Behavior Room Teacher to support 5th–8th grade students. State of Maine certification is required, and salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervises students. Responsible for planning instruction and/or adaptation of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences.
• Builds trust and confidence with students.
• Plans curriculum, lessons, and special ed programs and teaching methods.
• Maintains the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes. Encourages good citizenship.
• Instructs individuals and groups on Special Ed skill areas.
• Monitors student progress in and outside resource room.
• Modifies curriculum.
• Maintains contact with parents of students.
• Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
• Prepares report cards, education records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms.
• Participates in weekly building Special Ed Committee Meetings.
• Administers testing evaluations.

Regional School Unit #4 is seeking a qualified, motivated, patient individual to fill an open Special Education Resource/Behavior Room Teacher position supporting students at Oak Hill Middle School. Oak Hill Middle School houses our 5th - 8th grade students. Must be State of Maine certified.
