General Information/Duties:

• Plan, deliver, and assess instruction consistent with district curriculum
• Provide a variety of learning methods and resources to engage students in educational activities and lessons
• Develop and implement student Individual Education Plans and coordinate transition services
• Work cooperatively with regular and special education teachers, LISD personnel, governmental and other service agencies.
• Plan for and supervise teacher assistants for students in the general education classrooms.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate student outcomes through informal and formative assessments
• Effectively and consistently communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community
• Be a team player; working with other members to improve techniques, relations with the community, and school environment
• Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology.
• Participate in district‑wide professional development
• Perform other duties consistent within the scope of the position

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
• Current & appropriate Michigan certification, ASD or CI certification preferred.

• Ability and willingness to work in a team setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the academic, social, and emotional needs of the high school‑age student is required.

Terms of Employment:

Full‑time position. All terms per Master Contract between Board of Education and the Tecumseh Education Association/MEA.
