Rite of Passage seeks a Teacher for Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia. You will plan and deliver instructional programs for youth with emotional and behavioral disabilities outside the traditional school setting, while supporting their academic and therapeutic needs.

The role requires a VA Teaching Credential in Special Education or General Education; credentialing help is available. You will participate in IEP/ETP development and collaborate with case management and staff to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• VA Teaching Credential in Special or General Education; credentialing support provided.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and how to apply them to diverse learners.
• Ability to establish rapport, diagnose progress, and collaborate with staff.
• Pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instructional programs for students outside the public school system.
• Provide academic instruction to students with emotional/behavioral disabilities and manage behavior.
• Assess and evaluate student achievement; modify activities as needed.
• Participate in IEP, ETP development and team planning meetings.
• Write or contribute to Education Treatment Plan (ETP) or IEP and support therapeutic teaching strategies.
