Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any field from a regionally accredited university.
Foundations of Special Education course or willingness to take it.
Will work towards a provisional Special Education License from Florida.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
Assess student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting.
Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
Manage student behavior to create a conducive learning environment.
Coordinate instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning.
Communicate with parents regarding student progress and expectations.
Collaborate with professionals to support schoolwide instructional activities.
Use multimedia and technology to enhance learning.
Plan and implement lessons based on objectives for varying abilities.
Provide development and management for IEPs/BSPs and related plans.
