Job summary

School Lane Charter School in Pennsylvania seeks a Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive, collaboration-driven team. The role focuses on planning, instruction, and assessment within the SLCS curriculum, supporting diverse learners in an inclusion setting.

You will develop and monitor IEPs, work with classroom teachers to adapt instruction, and advocate for students while building a safe, respectful learning environment that welcomes academic and cultural diversity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
• Pennsylvania certification in Special Education PK-8 or PK-12 required.
• Commitment to inclusive learning and collaborative practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong planning, organizational, and research skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage positively with students to foster development.
• Experience with MS Office and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' developmental, cognitive, emotional and social needs; provide developmentally appropriate instruction.
• Complete academic testing and use results to identify students for SPED placement.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement integrated instruction and activities.
• Develop, monitor, and report on all IEPs within guidelines.
• Ensure differentiated instruction and IEP accommodations are applied consistently.
• Advocate for students to ensure needs are met.
• Evaluate student performance and share progress with teachers and administration.
• Identify students at risk academically or behaviorally in collaboration with teachers.
