Job summary

E-therapy is seeking an On-Site Special Education Teacher in Vacaville, CA to support elementary students with Mod/Severe needs. The role is full-time (35 hours/week) with start ASAP for the remainder of the 25/26 school year, and it is onsite only.

You will develop and implement IEPs, deliver core and functional instruction, collaborate with school staff and families, and maintain thorough documentation. A valid Special Education credential and experience in teletherapy or in-person settings

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state teaching license or certification in Special Education.
• Experience teaching students with disabilities in a school setting.
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Special Education Teacher in state they live and teach.
• Passionate about working with students in virtual or on-site settings.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations and best practices.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with families and staff.
• Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
• Experience in teletherapy or online instruction (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, based on thorough assessments and collaboration with parents, school staff, and related service providers.
• Provide specialized instruction in core academic subjects and functional skills, adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Use evidence-based teaching practices and assistive technologies to facilitate student learning and achievement.
• Monitor and assess students' progress towards IEP goals, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive practices and provide accommodations and modifications for students in the general education setting.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, IEP meetings, and communication with parents and other stakeholders.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings and student support team meetings, to develop and review student progress and interventions.
• Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals and other support staff working with students with disabilities.
