LifeWorks School in Media, PA is hiring a Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment for the 2026-2027 academic year. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is being offered for a certified Special Education Teacher.

The role supports delivery of specialized instructional and behavioral services to students, working with the building principal to cover needs, and aiding staff with IEPs, accommodations, and progress documentation. It also includes coaching and supervision of staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required; Master’s preferred.
• 3–5 years of special education teaching experience required.
• Pennsylvania certification in Special Education required.
• Pennsylvania Principal/Admin certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support delivery of specialized instructional and behavioral services to students, coordinating with the principal for coverage needs.
• Assist teachers, counselors, behavior interventionists and administrators in implementing IEPs and ensuring accommodations and supports.
• Create a safe, inclusive, structured learning environment with direct student assistance, progress monitoring and documentation.
• Provide direct staff support through observations, instructional coaching and supervision.

The LifeWorks School in Media, PA is actively hiring for Special Education Teacher on Special Assignment for the 2026-2027 Academic School Year.

We are now offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for a certified Special Education Teacher!

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school effected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. LifeWorks comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. The teacher on special assignment case manages and supports the delivery of specialized instructional and behavioral services to students while directly working with the building principal in the coordination of any coverage needs for school. This role assists teachers, counselors, behavior interventionists and administrators in implementing Individualized Education Plans, ensuring students receive appropriate accommodations and supports. The teacher on special assignment helps create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment by providing direct student assistance, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate documentation. They will also provide direct support to staff through observations, instructional coaching and individual supervision.
