Job summary

Spindle is seeking an experienced special educator to support middle school students in a collaborative setting. The contract runs ASAP through June 15, 2027, with a caseload of about 18 students (primarily 6th graders) in mild/moderate settings.

You will co-teach humanities and science, teach an ELA course for students with IEPs, and maintain records, progress monitoring, and collaboration with colleagues for testing and planning.

Qualifications

• Current, active California Mild/Moderate Teaching Credential.
• Experience supporting or co-teaching in a middle school environment.
• Understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and differentiation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with staff.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach humanities and science with general education teachers.
• Deliver instruction in a specialized ELA course for students with IEPs.
• Adapt lessons for diverse learners with mild to moderate needs.
• Maintain records, manage caseload, and support IEP processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues for testing, planning, and consultation.
