Job summary

Spindle is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract position in Thousand Oaks, CA. The role covers a mild to moderate caseload and starts immediately through June 4, 2027, or until the regular teacher returns from medical leave.

Approximately 25 students will be served, with responsibilities including IEP-driven instruction and collaboration with families. Competitive hourly pay of $45–$55, weekly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life).

Qualifications

• Valid and active California Mild/Moderate Teaching License required.
• Prior experience teaching students with mild to moderate disabilities preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Strong communication, organization, and team collaboration skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students in accordance with their IEPs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success.
• Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation as required by law and school policy.
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.
