Job Description

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.

Responsibilities
  • Implements instructional programs tailored to meet students' needs, interests, and abilities using appropriate instructional materials.
  • Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
  • Communicates effectively with parents/guardians.
  • Maintains complete and accurate student records.
  • Collaborates with school administrators, teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members.
  • Monitors and assesses student achievement.
  • Attends ongoing professional development and meetings.
Experience
  • Teaching experience in special education and related areas.
  • Knowledge of best instructional practices.
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively.
  • Experience in educational and instructional leadership.
Qualifications
  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in other content areas, is preferred but not required.
