Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools Goshen Post Elementary School - Aldie, Virginia is seeking a Special Education educator to plan and deliver instruction across single/multi-grade classrooms. You will monitor progress, utilize varied materials, and work with a team to support student achievement.

The role emphasizes professional collaboration, parental communication, and alignment with LCPS goals, with responsibilities across instruction, assessment, and behavior support.

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia or out-of-state teaching license in Special Education.
• Eligible for Virginia teaching license in Special Education (must submit transcripts).
• Knowledge of LCPS curriculum related to assignments and School Division mission, goals, and organization; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory.
• Skill with multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning; ability to plan and implement lessons based on objectives and student needs.
• Excellent oral and written communications; ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, parents.

Responsibilities

• Continually assess student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting.
• Plan and implement instructional strategies with appropriate materials and activities to maximize achievement.
• Manage behavior to create conducive learning environments; assist in behavior management across areas of the school.
• Coordinate instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Participate in in-service and professional development activities and meetings.
• Communicate with students and parents regarding progress and expectations.
• Collaborate with professionals to carry out schoolwide instructional activities as needed.
