Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher for a short-term contract in Vermont, starting August 19, 2026 and ending June 14, 2027. Responsibilities include providing individualized instruction in high school or elementary settings, collaborating with PT/OT staff, and piloting initiatives to prepare students for employment and daily living skills.

Valid Vermont teaching license with relevant endorsements is required.

Qualifications

Valid Vermont Professional Teaching License with one of the following Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement.
Experience working with students with disabilities including autism and executive function challenges.
Fingerprinting clearance (transferable from recent Vermont assignments).
Strong communication skills and a passion for individualized student support.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction in high school or elementary settings.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT for elementary placements.
Develop and implement pilot initiatives to prepare students for real-world employment and daily living skills.
Support students toward academic milestones in reading, writing, math, and life skills.
