Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; experience with elementary and middle school students with disabilities required.
• Familiarity with state and federal Special Education guidelines, regulations, and laws.
• Ability to implement behavioral strategies, accommodations, and interventions.

Responsibilities

• Ensures students are supported in learning a grade-appropriate program from an approved curriculum.
• Develops or translates lesson plans and activities into standards-based experiences.
• Provides individualized and small group instruction and adapts curriculum to student needs.
• Assesses learning and adjusts instruction according to individual student needs.
• Maintains standards of student behavior to optimize learning atmosphere.
• Collaborates with staff, families and appropriate agencies by communicating school-related issues and successes.
