Onward Education is partnering with a Cook County, IL school district to hire a compassionate Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs in elementary and middle grades, through IEPs and data-informed instruction.

You will collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure consistent supports and inclusive access to general education settings, while promoting independence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
• PEL with Special Education Endorsement in Illinois.
• Prior experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in special education or inclusive settings.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement IEPs and grade-appropriate goals, adapt materials, and monitor progress for elementary and middle school students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver differentiated, standards-aligned instruction.
• Use data-informed assessments and progress monitoring to promote skill development and engagement.
• Provide individualized and small-group support to strengthen academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
• Create a structured classroom environment that fosters independence and effective communication.
• Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure consistent supports.

Formation

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field

Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement in Illinois
