Job summary

Onward Education, in partnership with a Tinley Park, IL school, seeks an Elementary School Special Education Teacher. You will deliver instruction aligned to IEP goals for students with diverse learning needs, supporting academic growth, social-emotional development, and inclusive participation within the school community.

The candidate will have experience in a self-contained instructional setting and will work Monday to Friday from 7:40am to 2:40pm, with an end date of 10/30/2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Experience working with elementary students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities according to IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications with teachers and families.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track progress and adjust strategies.
• Maintain compliant special education documentation and participate in IEP meetings/evaluations.
• Support positive behavior interventions and create a structured learning environment.

The Special Education Teacher supports elementary students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals, fostering academic growth, social-emotional development, and inclusive participation within the school community. Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications in collaboration with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and progress reviews.
• Support positive behavior interventions and create a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes student independence and success.
