Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated subject matter competence in special education.
• Experience teaching secondary special education.
• Massachusetts teacher certification required or MTELs in progress.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute differentiated, standards-aligned instruction in Special Education Learning Center.
• Provide student support across core content areas using a push-in inclusion model.
• Support, plan and co-lead Service-Learning projects.
• Co-teach Social-Emotional Learning curriculum weekly.
• Develop and write Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Implement common academic and behavioral procedures for a structured, respectful learning environment.
• Input academic and behavioral data into the school data management system.
• Analyze student data and monitor progress via standards-based assessments.
• Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences three times per year.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure school mission is achieved.
• Consult with general education teachers on IEP implementation.
• Attend weekly professional development sessions and grade-level meetings.
