• Knowledge of curricula, instructional methodology, technology, and assessment to promote student success.
• Understanding traits and characteristics of various disabilities.
• Ability to instruct and assess students based on NC standards.
• Monitoring safety and wellbeing of students in inclusive settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and present instruction to students with disabilities using varied styles.
• Develop and implement IEPs compatible with age and development.
• Provide direct special education instruction to identified students.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain classroom discipline.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress via reports.
• Maintain student records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Follow board policies and procedures and cooperate with supervisors.
