Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Special Education Teacher to manage a caseload and implement school board policy on curriculum and IEPs. You will plan differentiated instruction, assess student progress, and collaborate with service staff to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, communicating with parents, and contributing to a professional learning community within WCSD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with student teaching experience and ability to obtain Nevada teaching license.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior of students, subject area, and credential area.
• Effective teaching skills, planning, organizing, supervision, and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Administer district curriculum aligned with Common Core and IEPs.
• Design and implement lessons and student assessments.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse learners and track progress.
• Provide accommodations and collaborate with IEP teams.
• Maintain accurate records and follow timelines for IEPs.
