Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher to support a school in Trumbull, Connecticut for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll provide specialized instruction, develop IEPs, and collaborate with teams to promote student growth.

You’ll work on-site supporting students with disabilities such as autism, behavior challenges, or life skills needs in a collaborative school setting, coordinating with families and multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Valid special education teaching license or CT certification.
• Experience with autism, behavioral challenges or sensory needs preferred.
• Strong understanding of behavioral interventions, sensory supports, and adaptive technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to students’ needs.
• Utilize ABA or social-emotional learning techniques.
• Collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and families to optimize educational outcomes.
• Incorporate sensory supports and adaptive technologies into daily instruction.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on development regularly.
