Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students with diverse learning needs in a contract, onsite role for the 2026-2027 academic year. The position runs August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with a Monday–Friday schedule and full-time hours.

The ideal candidate holds a Washington state Special Education certification and has experience tailoring instruction, collaborating with staff, and maintaining thorough documentation to support student

Qualifications

• Current and valid Special Education Teacher Certification issued by the state of Washington.
• Experience working with middle school students with disabilities is highly desirable.
• Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individualized needs.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs.
• Develop and implement effective, individualized lesson plans and behavioral strategies.
• Work closely with general education teachers, related services staff, and families.
• Assess student progress and adjust programming as necessary.
• Participate in IEP meetings, maintain appropriate documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Create a classroom atmosphere where all students feel safe, supported, and empowered.
