Job summary

FullShift Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction for elementary and/or secondary students with emotional impairments in specialized programs. You will develop comprehensive yearly syllabi and IEPs, work with parents and staff, supervise paraprofessional staff, and maintain records of attendance and grades in compliance with California regulations.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree from an accredited institution; preferred fields include Education, Child Psychology, Math, Science, English, History, or Social Science.
• CTC credential required; internship candidates considered.
• Master’s degree is highly desirable.
• Mild/Moderate, Moderate Severe or LH credential required; internship candidates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily classroom behavior using available resources and staff.
• Teach daily lessons from the approved classroom syllabus.
• Supervise and mentor 1:1s/educational assistants.
• Monitor and assess academic and behavioral progress per IEP/EP.
• Collaborate with staff and parents to address learning and behavior needs.
• Plan and supervise all classroom activities and field trips.
• Complete annual IEPs and report student performance.
• Attend meetings, career workshops, and trainings.
