Job summary

Bronx Arts seeks a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our ICT team, partnering with general education teachers to deliver rigorous, engaging instruction across content areas.

You will support students with IEPs, differentiate instruction, develop and monitor IEP goals, and ensure compliance while fostering a high-expectations, arts-infused learning environment that centers student growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
• Experience in ICT or inclusive classroom setting is preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
• Clearance for fingerprinting and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Co-plan and co-teach standards-aligned instruction across subjects.
• Differentiate instruction and provide targeted supports for diverse learners.
• Develop and implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications.
• Write and submit lesson plans and weekly instructional overviews.
• Track student progress and use data to adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with SPED team to complete IEP progress reports and ensure compliance.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with CSE.
• Maintain an organized, inclusive classroom reflecting student learning.
• Coordinate with arts teachers for school events and after-hours activities.
• Communicate regularly with families and hold conferences.
• Engage in professional development and coaching cycles.
