Job summary

The Division of Youth Services within the State of Colorado is seeking a licensed Special Education teacher to serve committed youth. You will develop IEPs with parents and students, maintain records in the online IEP system, and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with state guidelines.

You will teach, assess, and adapt lessons using differentiated strategies and technology, ensuring compliance with DYS procedures and licensure requirements. Residency in Colorado is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the work assignment.
• Current, valid Initial or Professional Teacher license issued by the Colorado Department of Education.
• Current, valid Colorado Special Education license or equivalent substitutions as listed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive learning environment.
• Teach content classes or CTE courses as required by the principal or supervisor.
• Develop and implement standards-based instruction, unit plans and ongoing assessments.
• Maintain IEP records and contribute to MTSS goals.
• Design varied assessments and lesson plans aligned to state standards.
