Job summary

Health Sciences Charter School is seeking a Grades 7-12 Special Education Teacher to design and implement specialized instruction for diverse learners. The role requires collaboration with general educators and related services within ICT settings, including resource rooms and self-contained classes.

You will develop IEPs, monitor progress, and coordinate with families and school teams to ensure equitable access to standards-based instruction. Strong data use and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
• Valid state teaching credential with SPED endorsement.
• Minimum 2–5 years of successful classroom teaching.
• IEP development and compliance experience.
• Experience with SIS data analytics platforms (e.g., PowerSchool).
• Experience with LMS (Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology).

Responsibilities

• IEP Development & Compliance.
• Draft and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Progress monitors students' skill development and needs.
• Present student progress data at CSE annual review meetings.
• Adheres to testing accommodations for NYS Regents exams.
• Active Co-teaching alongside general education content specialists in ICT.
