Responsibilities

• Teach students in grades 6–8 with special learning needs.
• Assess student skills to inform teaching plans.
• Adapt lessons to student needs.
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Plan activities tailored to each student’s abilities.
• Instruct students individually, in small groups, and as a class.
• Implement IEPs and track student progress.
• Update IEPs as progress and goals evolve.
• Discuss progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
• Supervise and mentor teacher assistants.
• Assist students’ transitions between grades.
