Job summary

SchoolHiring (Division of ExpertHiring) is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract role in Forest Lake, MN. You will provide specialized instruction to grades 9–12, develop and monitor IEPs, and adapt curricula to meet diverse needs.

Onsite, Monday to Friday, from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, with a start date of August 31, 2026 and end date of June 4, 2027. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and communicate with families to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License in EBD/ASD/ABS.
• Experience with at-risk students, preferably at the secondary level.
• Strong experience and skills in behavior support and management.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
• Experience working with high school students is preferred.
• The district may support an Out-of-Field Licensure Placement for qualified candidates who do not currently hold the exact required license.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, counselors, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate student records and required special education documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and other school-related activities.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and educational needs.
• Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
